Insights from our Knowledge Management Kick-off Event in Mozambique

On May 19th and 20th 2021 the team of HORIZONT3000 Mozambique met in Beira to discuss the topic of knowledge management and the knowledge management program of HORIZONT3000, called KNOW-HOW3000. It was the first time, such an event took place, and it was a great success!
What were the main objectives of the workshop?
The first main objective was to create as a team a basis regarding the topic knowledge management and the program KNOW-HOW3000 in Mozambique. The second main objective was to collect and exchange ideas about how the methods of KNOW-HOW3000 can be implemented together with our partner organisations in Mozambique in the future.
What was the program of the two days?
The first day, I gave a short introduction about knowledge management and the program KNOW-HOW3000. In the afternoon, the different methods of KNOW-HOW3000 were discussed in a Worldcafe and as well as in a panel discussion.
The second day, we shifted the focus from the theory to the practice: The flying KM TA Annika Witte was invited, to give an online introduction about how KNOW-HOW3000 was and will be implemented in East Africa. Based on that input, the participants were invited to discuss how the methods of KNOW-HOW3000 could be implemented, together with our partner organisations, in Mozambique in the near future.
How did the participants like the workshop?
The overall feedback was very positive, the participants especially enjoyed the personal exchange with the colleagues after months not seeing each other due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, they enjoyed to share their experiences about knowledge management from the past and to discuss ideas for future KNOW-HOW3000 activities. Since I am a new knowledge management manager in Mozambique, I was very happy to get the chance to do this workshop. The workshop was a crucial starting point for me to get started with the future planning of KNOW-HOW3000 in Mozambique.
